Design Thinking Conference Course


Class Dates: August 5, 2013 – August 7, 2013

Site: University School of Milwaukee

Course Description: This course is designed to broaden the participant’s knowledge of design thinking. Students will participate in a keynote presentation by the Peter Cobb group, attend two, day-long sessions that include demonstrations, presentations, or conversations around design thinking, assessments, and examples of projects that utilize design thinking. Then teachers will have the opportunity to develop a project that utilizes design thinking with students, empowers student ownership, increases faculty and student collaboration, and utilizes new forms of student assessment. Teachers will also reflect on their learning with grade level and departmental teams by responding to guiding questions (Appendix A) and six short videos on design thinking.
